In preparation for its upcoming nationwide party elections, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced the appointment of Anthony Mwaura and Joy Mdivo as the National Elections Board and the Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee chairpersons respectively.
According to UDA chairperson Cecily Mbarire, the appointments aim to ensure a seamless election process from start to finish.
Mbarire emphasized the party’s commitment to conducting transparent and fair grassroots elections across all 47 counties.
Anthony Mwaura, currently serving as the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Board Chairperson, will lead the seven-member National Elections Board team, with Veronica Kiberenge as the deputy chairperson.
The board also includes members Lydia Munika, Jimmy Kaingi, Mary Mutinga, Halake Dida, and Linda Kiome.
Joy Mdivo, holding the position of Kenya Power’s Board Chairperson, will head the nine-member Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee, deputized by Adrian Kamotho.
The committee comprises members such as Barbra Japan, Kaberia Isaac, and Yvonne Cherop.
Furthermore, Narok Women Representative Rebecca Tonkei has been appointed as the chair of the Internal Dispute Resolution Committee, tasked with addressing any internal conflicts arising from the polls.
These appointments come following a meeting of the UDA National Steering Committee led by Party Leader President William Ruto at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi.
The election process will unfold in four phases, commencing on Friday, April 26, and concluding on Saturday, August 24.
