Tharaka Nithi business mogul Mr. Murungi Baituru has been confirmed dead after an accident in his business premises.
The deceased, husband to Rael Fatuma Murungi a nominated MCA in Tharaka Nithi County Assembly and the Chairman of National Chamber of Commerce, Tharaka Nithi County chapter, is reported to have fell down and was hit on the back and neck after a small table he sat on at his Baituru bar near Kaanwa Stage in Chuka town
He was rushed to Chuka County Referral Hospital in critical condition before he was moved to Nairobi West hospital, Nairobi.
Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki described Murungi, a former teacher as a visionary and dedicated member of the community who also served previously served as the chairman of the County Liquor board.
“On my behalf, that of my family as well as Tharaka Nithi County Government, I relay my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Baituru as he was commonly known,” wrote Njuki.
Maara Mp Kareke Mbiuki has also passed his condolences saying the late Baituru has had an accomplished career in business spanning several decades.
“My sincere condolences to Hon. Rael Fatuma Murungi, the entire family, business community and friends of Baituru during this difficult time,” added Kareke.
