Villagers of Mugero, Magutuni in Maara Sub county of Tharaka Nithi were treated to a bizarre incident after a 16-year old boy found with used women undergarments.
Scores of women in the village claimed there has been increased reports of their panties and bras disappearing mysteriously only to discover them all after a suspicious villager broke into the boy’s rented house and found them stored in a sack.
One of the women said she had lost 12 of her panties on Sunday and had only been left with one that she had worn that day.
She claim they now feared for their lives because they do not know for what purpose the garments were collected for.
“How sure are we, the voices talking to him weren’t evil spirits looking for souls to sacrifice or people to torment?” lamented Gacheri Ngai.
The boy is said to have been doing it for the last fours years, a habit he has maintained since he was in class 6 and now in form one
In his defence, the minor who confessed to the mischief, claimed he hears some strange voices of a man and sometimes of a woman directing him where the undergarments are and their colours.
He is now pleading for forgiveness while calling upon spiritual intercessors to intervene for him to be freed off the voices and queer habit.
The villagers led prayers and through the assistance of a local pastor rebuked the spirits before setting the garments ablaze.
