Residents of Tharaka constituency have lauded Tharaka-Nithi County Government for the operationalisation of the radiology unit at Kibung’a Level Four Hospital in Marimanti ward.
Speaking during a tour of the hospital on Friday, Tharaka South Sub-county administrator, Mr Fred Kiriri said a total of 200 patients have been served in a record time of two months.
“Two months after Governor Muthomi Njuki operationalized this radiology unit, at total 200 patients have been served,” said Mr Kiriri.
Governor Njuki also opened a modern dental unit at the facility that has also been of great help to the people. Due to its proximity to Meru County, Kibung’a Hospital also attracts patients from neighbouring Imenti.
Ms Lucy Muthoni said residents no longer travel to Marimanti Level Four Hospital in Marimanti town for x-ray and dental services.
“This hospital has greatly helped us. We appeal to our governor to bring more specialised services as promised,” said Ms Muthoni.
It is one of the hospitals that Governor Njuki has promised to upgrade by availing more equipment for specialised treatment.
