Their agenda includes exploring the historic Mt Kenya Mau Mau caves, admiring the breathtaking Nithi Waterfalls, and enjoying the serene Lake Elis, all while placing a strong emphasis on supporting education in the region.
MP Kareke expressed the commitment of local leaders to secure government recognition for the Chogoria Gate through tourism initiatives.
Their primary objective is to bring Chogoria Gate into the spotlight, benefiting both the community and the government.

Kareke lauded the Tharaka Nithi government for its unwavering support in advancing the tourism sector.
“Deputy President Rigathi Gashagua has been a driving force behind the growth of Mt Kenya, closely followed by Chogoria MCA Franklin Mawira,” Kareke asserted.
He urged the residents of Tharaka Nithi County to rally behind MCA Mawira’s efforts in promoting Chogoria Gate, ensuring it gains nationwide recognition.
In response, MCA Franklin Mawira commended the MDF for their dedicated support of Chogoria Gate, particularly in attracting more tourists to this picturesque destination.
