Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans that the State will not lose war against Al-Shabaab and other extremest criminals.
Speaking during a tour of attack prone areas of Mandera, Garissa and Wajir counties on Tuesday, Prof Kindiki said Northern Kenya will soon be free from violent extremists.
The CS held consultative meetings with security and intelligence committees before meeting the regional leaders and addressing the residents.
“Government is committed to the fight against violent extremists and it cannot afford to lose,” said Prof Kindiki.
He insisted that criminals who have no regard for the rule of law cannot continue to threaten the national security and destabilise communities in North Eastern Kenya.
In the recent, Al-Shabaab has heightened attacks in North Eastern Kenya mainly targeting security officers.
The criminals plant explosives on the roads or spray bullets on motorists.
