Kenya Power and Lighting Company has informed the public of scheduled power interruptions in various parts of the country on Monday, February 12, 2024.
In a statement released on Sunday, the utility firm outlined that the power interruptions will affect six counties, including select areas of Homa Bay, Embu, Nyeri, Machakos, Kiambu, and Kilifi.
Homa Bay County: Residents in Saye, Nyabondo, Oyugis, Nyadendi, Obisa, Rongo Primary, Nyangiela, Third Engineering, Kasimba, Mathenge, Nyatindo, Kawere, Ongamo, Mosocho and adjacent areas will experience a blackout from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Embu County: Parts of Embu, including Mungania Tea Factory , Kianjokoma market, Kathande Village, Kamugere, Kianyangi, Weru wa Kaimba, Ngurueri factory and adjacent areas, will face power interruptions from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Nyeri County: Areas such as New KCC Kiganjo, Chaka market, Maisha Flour Mills, Kiganjo market, Kiganjo Police College, Kirichu market, Rosa Academy, Kagumo High School, Ndurutu, Gladstone Hotel, Kiganjo Nyewasco Sewerage and adjacent customers will experience power interruption, affecting nearby customers.
Machakos County: Power maintenance is scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in various areas, including Masii, Mwala, Mbiuni and Kasolongo markets, Muthetheni, Miu, Katangi, Kavumbu, Ikalaasa, Tulila, Yathui, Syokisinga, Kenyatta, Ikombe, Kyua, Ngumbulu SEKU and adjacent areas.
Kiambu County: PCEA University, Thogoto, Alliance Girls’ High School, Alliance Boys, PCEA Kikuyu Hospital, University of Nairobi Kikuyu Campus and adjacent areas are among the areas where residents can expect a blackout from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Kilifi County: Malindi Golf, Sand-Piper School, Woburn Residence, Kisumu Ndogo, Danga, Mulika Mwizi and adjacent areas are some of the areas affected by the power maintenance, which will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
