Former Tharaka Nithi Governor and National Cereals Produce Board (NCPB) chairman Samuel Mbae Ragwa has called upon the people of Tharaka Nithi to pray for the Neighboring County Meru in the ongoing political conflicts.
Speaking at AIPCEA Church in Muthenge Maara Subcounty, Ragwa said that it was unfortunate that Meru was now submerged in politics which was going to affect development in the area.
“We need to pray for them and support peace and reconciliation because they are our brothers and sisters so eventually we might be affected too if things go as they are currently,” he added.
The former County Boss said that there was need for all parties to listen to each other so that they can identify what the problem is and be able to solve it once and for all for the sake of the people.
Ragwa who has been crisscrossing the region to overseer distribution of government’s subsidized fertilizers cautioned farmers over reported cases of conning to access the fertilizer.
“I hear you people are giving out money so that you can be given fertilizer, there is enough fertilizer for everyone who registered so do not be deceived and give money just to avoid queuing or missing out,” he emphacized.
He called upon religious leaders to start programs that would benefit the youth in the current economic times to fight desperation and frustration among them.
“It would be very helpful if every church supported at least one youth per year, so that as others when some miss out on getting employment in the government or elsewhere we have others doing well, thanks to our places of worship,” he added.
