The first and former Tharaka Nithi Governor Samuel Mbae Ragwa has been appointed as the chairperson of the National Cereals and Produce Board.
In the Gazette Notice dated 19th April 2023, the President Wiliam Ruto appointed Ragwa, who will serve with effect from 20th April, 2023 for a period of three years.
His counterpart, former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has also been appointed as the chairperson for board of directors of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya for a period of three years.
Ameru leaders from the two counties have been on the fore front in requesting the president to appoint the two ex-governors to serve Kenyans after unsuccessfully vying for various seats in the last general elections.
Other national leaders who have equally received appointments are former Makueni Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau who will serve as the chairperson for the Board of Directors for the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC)
Former presidential candidate David Mwaure Waihiga has been appointed to chair the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund while Godfrey Lemiso will now chair the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation.
The new chairperson for the Export Processing Zones Authority is Richard Cheruiyot while Prof Kimathi Mbogori will chair the board of directors of the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute.
