Football Kenya Federation (FKF) held its Special General Meeting (SGM) on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in a key event that sets the stage for the federation’s upcoming elections.
A total of 89 delegates participated in the meeting, including representatives from all 45 FKF Branches, as well as delegates from the FKF Premier League (18), FKF National Super League (10), FKF Women Premier League (3), FKF Women National Super League (2), and FKF Division One League (10).
The SGM’s top agenda items included the adoption of decisions made by the National Executive Committee, the ratification of a newly composed Electoral Board, and the endorsement of the 2019/2020 Electoral Code.
Members voted to pass the Electoral Board, which will oversee the upcoming elections. The newly approved board members are Hesbon Owilla, James Waindi, Alfred Ngang’a, Dan Mule, and Marceline Sande, with standby members Farida Lucia Juma and Robert Akumu Asembo.
In addition, the delegates also voted to adopt an amended version of the Electoral Code, which will now guide the election process.
With these decisions, the Board is now fully mandated to conduct the forthcoming FKF elections.
