Youth drawn from various football clubs in Embu on Thursday embarked on a clean-up exercise of the town as part of giving back to the society.
The spruce-up exercise that involved garbage collection, cutting of overgrown grass and vegetation and unclogging drainages comes days before the town plays host to Madaraka Day Celebrations on 1st June which will be held at the upgraded Embu Stadium.
Led by Football Kenya Federation Embu Branch Chairman Charles Njagi, the youths also used the opportunity to sensitive locals on the importance of waste management.
3K FC team Captain Moses Munene said they will make it a tradition to clean up various towns across the county regularly.
They at the same time said the upgrading of Embu Stadium was a big boost to the football fraternity in the county and will go a long way in uplifting soccer standards.
