Chuka University has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of two new Deputy Vice-Chancellors (DVCs), signaling a renewed focus on academic excellence and institutional growth.
Prof. Jonah Nyaga Kindiki, a brother to Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki has been named the DVC for Administration, Finance, Planning and Development, while Prof. Gilbert Mbaka Nduru takes over as the DVC for Academic, Research & Student Affairs.
Prof. Kindiki who is also a brother to KCA University Vice Chancellor, Prof Isaiah Wa kindiki, previously a Dean at Moi University, brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership and management.
His expertise is expected to enhance the university’s financial planning, infrastructure development, and administrative efficiency.
Prof. Nduru, who has been serving in an acting capacity since June 2023, provides continuity and institutional knowledge.
His leadership is anticipated to further strengthen academic programs, research initiatives, and student affairs, fostering a conducive learning environment.
Chuka University Vice-Chancellor, Prof Henry Mutembei expressed confidence in the new appointees, stating that their leadership will be instrumental in driving the university’s ambitious strategic objectives.
The appointments come at a time when Chuka University is expanding its research programs and academic offerings, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in higher education.
The growth of the university in Tharaka Nithi County has also boosted the economy of Chuka town.
It also gave birth to Tharaka University which is also full fledge institution of higher learning bring to two, public universities in Tharaka Nithi County.
