A 23-year-old Chuka University sudent has today committed suicide inside his girlfriend’s rental house at Kangaru village in Embu West Sub-County.
Confirming the incident Thambo Sub Location Assistant Chief Rose Wambeti said the young man had visited his girlfriend who is also a student when the lady left for classes only to come back and find her boyfriend hanging inside the house.
“Upon her return, the girlfriend peeped through the window and discovered her boyfriend had hanged himself using a belt inside the house. The matter was reported by the lady at Kangaru Police Post”, said the administrator.
It is alleged that the man was battling with a betting addiction that might have triggered him to suicide after losing a bet.
Police visited the scene and moved the body to Embu Level Five Hospital Mortuary.
