Police in Chuka Sub County is investigating a strange incident where a junior secondary girl from Mwonge public primary school was kidnapped inside a dormitory and defiled in a nearby bush for two hours.
Confirming the horrible incident, Chuka Sub County Police Commander Mr Paul Kuria told journalists at his office that the crime was committed on the night of 24th this month between 1am and 3am.
The police boss said according to the report made by the 12-year-old girl, a face-masked man who was armed with a panga gained the access to the dormitory through a window next to her bed and forced her out through the rear door amid a heavy downpour.
He said the girl added that the man defiled her on the muddy ground while threatening to hack her in case she screamed before returning her to the dormitory.
“Police are going on with the investigations aimed at arresting the criminal and charging him in court,” said Mr Kuria.
The police boss said after the girl was back in the dormitory, she woke up the matron who sleep not very far from her bed and informed her of what had happened.
The matron called the head teacher, the teacher on duty and the watchman before rushing her to Chuka Police Station for reporting and later to Chuka County Referral Hospital for screening and treatment.
The medics confirmed that indeed the minor had been defiled and seriously traumatised.
After the treatment, the girl took the teachers, education officials and Directorate of Criminal Investigation officers to the scene of the crime where they recovered her pantie.
Mr Kuria asked school administrators to ensure that boarding learners are safe from criminals noting that last year a similar incident was reported in the same school.
“A similar case is in court and both the watchman and matron are facing charges for being involved in the crime or failing to prevent crime,” he said.
