Chuka Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene (Parto) has questioned the motives of Lawrence Kaburu, a senior county employee, after he was summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over allegations of taking photographs of the MP’s home in Kibugua.
Sources privy to The Peak revealed that the MP was eager to understand Kaburu’s intentions regarding his home and what he planned to do with the photos he had been sharing.
“I have no case with him, maybe he has a case with my security people. I am also eager to know what interests he has with my home and what he plans to do with the photos….Are they planning to attack me or something?” read part of the MP’s statement.
As the rift between Governor Muthomi Njuki and MP Patrick Munene appears to deepen by the day, Lawrence Kaburu, a close ally of Governor Njuki was summoned by the DCI in Chuka over photos posted on Facebook, which were believed to be of MP Patrick Munene’s home.
According to reports, the photos were shared by an account named Mugendi Mukara, suspected to be a pseudo account for Lawrence Kaburu.
Kaburu was accompanied to the DCI by the County Chief of Staff , County Assembly Speaker John Mbabu, Nominated MCA Wanja Karuku, the County Administrator, and other key officials from the Tharaka Nithi county government.
Speaker John Mbabu and MCA Wanja Karuku have criticized the MP for allegedly reporting the matter to the police.
