At least 15 people have been confirmed dead after a bus which was heading towards Nairobi direction collided with a matatu heading towards the opposite direction.
The grisly accident happened at Twin Bridge in Mau Summit along the Nakuru Eldoret highway on Tuesday morning at around 2am.
Confirming the incident Kuresoi North Sub-County Police Commander, Ms Judith Gathenge said Eight adults and seven children perished on the spot.
The accident involved a matatu from Northwayx Shuttle and a bus from the Classic King bus and what led to the collision is yet to be established.
Gathenge said that the bodies were taken to Molo Sub-County Mortuary while seven people were rushed to Molo Sub-county Hospital some with critical injuries.
