Two Catholic Priests namely Noah Mutethia and Dennis Makandi were arrested on Tuesday night, 2nd October after causing a scuffle that led to a commotion at One Point Two Bar in Mukothima, Tharaka North Sub-County.
The two men of God who serve the faithful at Mukothima Catholic Parish had visited the Bar establishment on Tuesday night and indulged in drinking which later turned violent and rowdy in the wee hours of the morning.
During the commotion, the two men are alleged to have destroyed several drinking glasses estimated to cost about six thousand Kenyan shillings, and assorted bottles of beer estimated to cost about ten thousand Kenyan shillings.
Afterwards, the two were arrested and taken to Makutano Police Station where they were held and released the following morning.
The owner of the Bar and Restaurant establishment, Mr Kaimba has since reported the matter at Makutano Police Station and is accusing the two men of malicious damage to his property.
The matter is currently being investigated with the OCS Makutano Police Station leading investigations.
