Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has warmed the hearts of the constituents for uniting other elected leaders to a seating with President William Ruto at the Nairobi State House.
After the governor posted the photos taken with the Head of State on social media, residents of the neighbouring Meru County are now appealing to their elected leaders to emulate their Tharaka Nithi County counterparts.
The residents have argued that with the ongoing differences between the governor, Kawira Mwangaza the other elected leaders it will be impossible to seek such a seating with the President and the electorates stand to lose.
“I admire the way Governor Njuki of Tharaka Nithi is uniting other elected leaders to lobby for development projects. It is high time our governor, Mwangaza and other elected leaders put aside their differences for the sake of our welfare,” Mr Nicholas Mutembei from Nkubu in Meru County posted on Facebook.
Ms Jane Kawira from Chogoria in Maara constituency noted that though Tharaka Member of Parliament Gitonga Murugara his Maara counterpart Kareke Mbiuki and Women Representative Susan Ngugi have expressed interest in inheriting Njuki who is serving his second term in office, they are sober enough to unite for the welfare of their voters.
In his Facebook post, Governor Njuki pointed out that the conversation around developing the county is a critical pillar of his administration.
“Today, I led Tharaka Nithi County elected leaders to a round table meeting with H.E. President Dr. William Ruto at State House, Nairobi,” wrote Governor Njuki.
He stated that they discussed with county’s development agenda with the key highlight being a proposed visit by the Head of State in early March this year to commission development projects in the three constituencies.
