President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfilling all campaign promises, insisting that the government is implementing its manifesto despite criticism from the opposition.
Speaking during a development tour of Juja and Thika constituencies in Kiambu County today on Friday, the President said the Kenya Kwanza administration now operating under a Broad-Based Government remains firmly focused on transforming the country through key reforms and infrastructure projects.

He dismissed the opposition as lacking a credible agenda, accusing its leaders of engaging in personal attacks and promoting division.
“Our competitors have no plan, no agenda and no vision for our country because their past is a scandal, their present is a fraud and their future is empty let them continue calling me names but Kenya must be transformed.”said Ruto .
The President expressed confidence that the government’s development track record would secure victory in the next General Election, citing ongoing reforms in agriculture, education, healthcare and the economy as evidence of progress being felt across the country.
Ruto particularly defended the Affordable Housing Programme, which he said has created employment opportunities for hundreds of thousands of young people.
He criticized the opposition for opposing the initiative and threatening to halt it if elected.
“Where will you take the 640,000 young people working in Affordable Housing Programme projects,”said the president.
Addressing residents in Kiambi the President said the government is investing Sh55 billion in development projects, including the construction of 18,000 affordable housing units, 32 modern markets and 15,000 hostel beds for university and college students.

On infrastructure, he noted that sufficient funds have been allocated to complete stalled road projects in the county, including 250 kilometres of Mau Mau roads expected to be finished within a year.
He also announced that financing has been secured for the dualling of Kiambu Road from Muthaiga to Ndumberi, a move aimed at easing traffic congestion along the busy corridor.
In addition Ruto noted construction of an expressway along Thika Superhighway from Museum Hill in Nairobi to Thika is set to begin in October this year .
During the tour, the President inspected several ongoing housing projects, including the Ndarugo Affordable Housing Project in Juja, which features integrated social infrastructure such as a dispensary, schools, an administration block and a multi-purpose hall.

In Thika Town, he visited the 573-unit Thika UTI Affordable Housing Project, the 913-unit Thika Bustani project and the 975-unit Kings Orchid development. He also inspected the 412-unit Thika Depot Housing Project.
Ruto further commissioned the upgrading of Thika Stadium 10,000-seat facility at a cost of Sh900 million, describing it as a boost to sports development in the region.

At Witeithie township, he inspected the ongoing construction of a modern market, reiterating the government’s commitment to improving working conditions for small-scale traders.
“We are keeping our promise to Mama Mboga by building more than 450 modern markets across the country adding that the facilities will ensure dignity and better business environments for traders,” he said.
The President also highlighted new international trade opportunities, noting that Kenya has secured duty-free, quota-free access to the Chinese market for agricultural products.
Similar arrangements, he said, are in place with the European Union and the United Arab Emirates, a move expected to boost farmers’ earnings.
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi pledged continued collaboration with the National Government to accelerate development in the county, commending projects such as the Thika Stadium upgrade.
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah praised the administration’s development record, saying leaders in the region are united in supporting ongoing projects.
“We have unanimously agreed to focus on the delivery of projects you are doing for us roads, affordable housing, markets and the stadium,” he said.
Juja MP George Koimburi said he had abandoned the opposition, accusing it of dishonesty and lack of direction.
“There is nothing in the opposition but dishonest people. Here, it is all about development,” he said.
