A police officer was today arrested and locked in Elburgon police station after he was found sleeping and drunk in the teachers’ quarters of Kimonio Primary school in Molo, Nakuru county where he had been assigned to mann the centre during the ongoing national examinations.
According to a police report, the manager of the centre Mr. Elijah Biwott, reported that there was a security lapse due to the absence of a police officer who had been deployed at there.
The Molo security team led by Marioshoni OCS immediately rushed to the school and found PC Joshua Kimathi Milikau sleeping in the teachers’ quarters drunk.
It was established that the officer had earlier abandoned his place of duty before heading to the nearby centre to enjoy his drink then came back to the school where a teacher noticed he was drunk and convinced him to go sleep in his house for him sober up.
The officer was disarmed and another officer assigned to continue providing security as the English Composition paper went on.
The drunk police officer was then frog matched to the police station where he is locked up awaiting disciplinary action.
