Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative, Susan Ngugi, has responded strongly to Maara MP Kareke Mbiuki after he likened her to a hen in a recent statement.
Mbiuki claimed that Ngugi, unlike a cow that provides silent but significant contributions to the village by giving birth to calves and supplying milk, only lays one egg and makes a lot of noise.
The Woman Rep, however, defended her approach, stating that some leaders use the media to promote their minor accomplishments while she remains vocal about her achievements.
During the NGAAF cheques distribution event to Mwimbi women’s groups, the passionate county MP challenged Kareke Mbiuki to showcase his achievements to the long-suffering Maara residents who have been yearning for development.
Furthermore, Ngugi accused the Maara MP of lacking transparency in his development initiatives, emphasizing that he has never made his project records public.
She stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in leadership and expressed her commitment to speaking out for the next four years if necessary, as long as some leaders refuse to make their records public.
