Police have launched investigations into the death of Kilifi County Chief Officer for Mining and Blue Economy, Rahab Karisa.
The Chief Officer who had reportedly jetted into the country from a working trip in Italy is said to have been stabbed to death by her house help in the Thursday morning incident.
According to the guard of Karisa’s house located in the Mnarani Classic Estate in Kilifi, the house help fled after committing the incident before officers from a private firm arrived for their morning shift.
While confirming the incident, Kilifi County police commander Fatuma Hadi said police will begin investigations into the incident and a search for the house help.
“We visited the scene and managed to recover the knife used to kill her. She had a visible injury but we hope to get more answers after the post-mortem”, she said.
Karisa’s body was found lying face down in a pool of blood in her bedroom.
The body of the victim is at the Kilifi County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
