Divisions have emerged among the leadership of the Kandara Residents Association which is set to benefit with over 1400 acres ceded from Delmonte farm.
During a meeting with National Assembly’s Lands Parliament Committee and National Lands Commission members, the disagreements ensued immediately after the committee’s chair, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko invited the group’s leadership.
One of the association leaders introduced himself as the chairman resulting in shouts among the residents who could be heard saying “Pmg Junior, PMG Junior,” who is the son of late politician and activist Phillip Njuguna alias PMG.
PMG is the one who initiated the fight to get back the unutilized Delmonte land to Kandara residents claiming that it belonged to their ancestors.
Efforts by police and administration to silence the members took almost long with the committee chairman requesting MPs Chege Njuguna and Wakili Edward Muriu to control the condition.
