The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance has called members of the public for a consultative meeting at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi on Tuesday next week to decide on the way forward after the passage of the controversial Finance Bill, 2023.
Speaking to the media in Nairobi on Thursday, Martha Karua said the Kenya Kwanza regime has assured that the wishes of the people were ignored and retained punitive taxes in the bill.
She said Kenya Kwanza has already shown Kenyans the contempt card and that is why they must make a decision on the next move.
“We are inviting Kenyans at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi on Tuesday next week so that they can decide on the way forward following the passage of the punitive Finance Bill, 2023,” said Ms Karua.
She said the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance Members of Parliament who voted in favor of the bill will soon have their day for reckoning because the jury is already out.
Meanwhile, Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki has already announced serious action against the Azimio la Umoja leadership in case they call for demonstrations over the bill which was passed yesterday.
