Seven children are currently undergoing treatment at Bahati sub-county hospital in Nakuru County after consuming suspected poisonous mushroom.
The Peak found out that the children begun complaining of stomach problems after eating mushrooms.
A parent to one of the children confirmed that his child was treated and discharged on Tuesday night , while others are still receiving treatment.
Upon interrogation the children said they plucked the mushrooms from a nearby farm before going to one of their friends home where they prepared and shared the meal only to develop stomachaches immediately after.
They were then rushed to the hospital for treatment and are now under observation.
With the current rainy season where natural foods are bound to be locally available and mostly vegetables, health experts have advised that not all available ones are safe for consumption.
Parents have been especially advised to caution their children and to closely monitor what they are consuming.
